Midland Centro Shopping Complex

The Project

EvoTEC’s involvement in this project entailed the electrical distribution and communication cabling, including light and power throughout the complex, for 17 retail tenants.

The builder, Diploma Construction specialises in these projects and required a dedicated team to perform with quality and speed to meet the deadline of a fast paced construction program.

Timeline

This project was supervised by the Managing Director of EvoTEC, as changes due to fitout variations resulted in an additional workload of almost 70% .

Although there was a need to source additional materials and supplier bottlenecks were encountered, the work was completed on schedule by committed EvoTEC staff working weekends.

Overview

The project commenced in August 2005 and involved 17 bulky goods showrooms, including Mal’s Auto, Bed Shed, The Kitchen Store, Freedom Furniture, Officeworks and The Good Guys.

With an original timeline of 6 months, TES so impressed the developer with performance and workmanship, that we were also engaged to carry out all tenancy internal fit outs. By the time practical completion was achieved, the contract value and workload had nearly tripled – TES was able to increase manpower and resources to accommodate this workload and bring the project to a The final electrical installation also included a main switchboard underground conduit system, sub-mains and distribution boards to the 17 tenancies.

Communication backbone cabling, general internal light and power, carpark lighting, perimeter lighting and an emergency lighting system were also installed throughout. Since this project we have maintained a continuous working relationship with both the Builder and the Developer.
